Trying to pass emissions. Searched.
Greetings. I'm trying to pass emissions at the moment and it's not going well.
I'm missing on the Carbon Monoxide reading "CO (%)"
15 MPH - is at 1.96. Max is .94
25 MPH - is at 2.17 Max is .84
So it's running rich, but how can I go about correcting this?
Info:
1991 Turbo B16A CRX
Cat is new.
ECU chipped, tune with Neptune. (Hence why I can't simply just start changing numbers.
Could I get around this with an alcohol mix? Anything I could do with the timing that might help this?

I just literally had the same problem, you'll have to get it retuned.. lean it out. what size exhaust do you have, I have the 3" turbo back, we had to make a restrictor plate with a 2" hole in the center that fit just behind the cat and put one of those crappy silencers on the exhaust tip. doing that brought it within spec.
Get some denurtured alcohol from Home Depot or some hardware store. I would suggest putting one quart or so of it in with a half gallon tank or so. That will help out alot.
I've tossed the alcohol idea around.
I would simply use a stock ECU, but that would be hard without an O2 sensor. Car is all computer, it just does what it's told at this point.

Drive down the highway for at least 15 minutes to get the engine nice and hot. Keep it at high RPMS to burn off excess fuel and carbon before taking emissions. Never take an emissions test before the engine is fully warmed up. You will fail. Does it have the MPFI conversion?

Doing retests yeilded much higher CO with hot air, which makes sense. I'm going to try to run this again while forcefully chilling the air.
