Valve Cover Paint questions.
Ive read most of the threads on painting covers but they are pretty basic(one color).
What im planning on doing is basically just doing a White VC with the Manchester Red Devil on the right half of the cover. Now my question is when doing something of that nature, obviously lay down the white then let dry then i shouldn't have any problems taping off the design as its pretty stencil like, then lay the red over the white.....let dry, add details with airbrush, let dry, clear then bake? How long should the first coat or two need to dry before i can use the tape to work on the other design etc. How many coats do valve covers need, and are there any certain types of paints i should be looking for, im not going to rattle can (although i should be able to pull this off by doing it, your oppinions?) except for the primer as i have access to a compressor and gun. Ive seen some use specialty paints for heat, and some use others that have seemed to hold up. Just like some input. If im unclear on some things above, ask and ill get more specific. Thank-Jon
