Default need axle help and suggestions.

Ok so I've broken my second axle on the drivers side in 2 days. I need some suggestions on what axles i should get I'm running a b18a1 with the basic bolt ons mated to a b16 cable transmission that has a stage 3 cluth and 7lb. flywheel. The axles that I was running are the ls axles and halfshaft from a 90 integra. Has anybody else ran this setup and had this problem and can I upgrade to axles and halfshaft from a 94 gsr will that help?

are you using junk yard pulls?
if you are using pulls, dont

1]
you dont know what condition they are in, no matter what you are told.

2]
you can get the store to replace ones you bought new

3]
Read The FAQ, all the info you need is in there

the first one came on the car and they were in pretty bad shape and the second one came off a friends integra but had no play in it at all. If it help they keep breaking were the axle goes in to the cv joint on the side that goes to the halfshaft. Is that normal should i check anything?

What kind of mounts are you using? Just wondering if your axle alignment is really off or extreme.

If you use 94 up integra axles you need to use the intermediate shaft from the 94 and up. Its a male intermediate shaft. But you will be fine running a 90-93 integra axle. If you get the abs axles just take off the abs part off the axles.

So would you recomend i stay with LS axles? Have you ever seen an engine sagg on the drivier side? Is that due to the wrong engine mount?

I would not run cams on stock internals at all.

And what kinda mounts you have? I have had sag before but nothing too bad.

I'm not sure what kinda mounts they are I'll take a look when I go to the garage later. The sag is not that bad but I didn't know if that could be causing the axle to break it only happen when i was doing a fast shift from 2nd-3rd could it be my stage 3 clutch and 7lb. flywheel is cause to much stress on the axle joints?

yeah it's in the same place both times the bearings that go into the inner cv joint that hooks to the intermediate shaft. They fall out when I shift hard from 2nd-3rd.

Maybe the "stage 3" clutch is too much for them. I'm assuming it is a puck clutch as opposed to a full face clutch. With basic bolt ons a simple full face clutch with a heavier clamping pressure plate is more than adequate. But anyway a puck clutch is more of an on or off clutch there is not really much in between. This adds stress from the impact of the clutch to the drive train and engine. Just a humble opinion though

thanks for the advice I was think of pulling the transsmision and maybe changing the clutch. I found out yesturday that my intermediate shaft is to short that's why my axle kept breaking when the car sites on the ground it pulls the bearing halfway out the cv joint.

Did you take the dust shields out of the hub behind the rotor? Actually nevermind that would help if the axles were too long.

Watch buying a used one online. I did and the bearing was completely shot. I do remember seeing int. shafts with upgraded shanks for around $100. If I could recommend one thing it would be to stay away from used drive shaft parts altogether. ( I'm sure there not all bad I just haven't had very good luck in my own experience.
