with a 1100$ budget for paint an body work 1 day paint has gotten my vote since they will not only get my door dings out but switch the car from white to gunmetal including door jams an **** for 1000$.Now I trust them alot more then earl schriebs "nail polish" Paint jobs so anyone with pics of paint jobs from 1 day?

 

well my friend got his delsol painted pewter metallic. It looks like the is300 color. He only payed 650 to paint. Including the door jams, underneath the hood, trunk. I just drop my car off today at 1 day. Hopefully it turns out good.

 

well they have diffrent stages your friend may have gotten a less expensive stage.So hows the quality of his paint job,overspray,paint drips?any of those abd things or is nice an glossy.an what color was his car b4?

 

i live in socal, and alot of people i know have 1 day paintjobs that look pretty damn good and for the price and turn-around time to get it done you cant complain...that much, I have noticed in several 1 day paintjobs that they kinda get careless on the taping off of the window areas here and there and maybe a lil over spray...so I would recommend that you tape it off urself, remove your door panels, taillights, etc..etc... other than that paintjobs are really good, unless your building and all out show car and want a $5000 paintjob

fact: TC spoilers (supposedly well known for show quality paintjobs) in socal once claimed they had painted a car that was actually painted by 1 day...

 

wow I am likin all this good news.Thanks guys.Well my plan is to mask of the moding on the front siR bumper myself then when I got to the shop I will remove the headlights,bumper lights,tail lights an rear bumper right there at one day an put em all back on when I pick it up.Since the car is white an gutted I am just gonna spray paint the inside flat black unless they can do it for a minimal charge.Thanks for 2 great responses I having more faith in this slowly.

i'll recommend you going to a "real" body shop to see what their prices are like. if you're going for 1 day you're probably getting the single stage urethane paint and a lot of body shops could do that kinda paint job for about the same price, even less sometimes. from what i have seen these shops seem more legit; they put flex primer and take a lot more pride in their work than 1day. also orange peel from 1day seems pretty bad, just something to think about if you're not gonna color sand it afterwards. i just had a single stage paint job from a shop in corona named choice and it turned out pretty sweet for 800 including trunk etc. but now i'm getting the clear/base coat system because insurance is paying for it. but yeah....1day jobs looks pretty good besides the orange peel.

well actually the one I am gettin is the 3 stage paint wiht dupont paint an I found out today they will paint my interior to match also for another 100$as far as color sanding an maybe addin some clear coat I have a friend who co-runs A&A autobody in van nuysc,ca.

 

my friend had a delsol. The color of it before was red. Now its pewter metallic. It sorta looks like the is300 color. He just took of his wing, taillights. It looks pretty clean. There were no drips off his car. I just took off my wing, tailights,corners,stock sideskirts,doorpanel,mirrors,corners. I will be geting results either this friday or saturday. hopefully all turns well

 

Anybody know any good paint shops in Socal that will fix dings, dents and give a close to factory paint job for about $1500?

ouch..1 grand.. my friend painted his car there... then a year later, he got a paint job at a respectable paint place..and to his dismay, he saw a lot of white over spray on everything.. his car is now laguna seca blue.. but the white over spray from 1 day is terrible.

 

My boys teg had his car repainted from black to white for 1100 and it was a good job for that price. It has a 5yr warranty they said too. Unless you want to go to a place like 20/20 autobody where it's like 3000 grad starting price.

My friends car. It was done at miracle. He had the emblems shaved and some dents taken out. It loooks really good and he paid around 1000 for single stage.

i might get a primered ek hatch and of course i wanna paint it
i was planning on painting it electron blue pearl.

1 Day? You get what you pay for.

Sanding, prepping, blocking, takes more than a day. How can you expect to paint a car in a day? 1 Day sucks ***.

I'd rather do it right the first time around than go back only a year later to paint your car again.
