help newbie with fiberglass fender question T_T
i only owned my car for 2 months and just last month a guy slammed into my car while it was parked in front of my house. hitting the front left side, damaging my front bumper, fender, wheel and headlights. urgh! i already got most of the replacement parts except the fenders. i've been flip flopping to change the fenders to those Z3 or euro style ones, and they are all made of fiberglass. i've heard a lot about fiberglass parts cracking and not fitting and all, but none of them mentions fenders. so i'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction about it. should i go with the oem fenders or the fiberglass ones (like the ones they have on ebay, is that a bad idea?). ^_^'' any help is much appreciated.
i would say OEM just for the fit ,but if want the aftermarket z3 f1 or any kind of fenders like that just be aware that you may have to do or get someone to do some fiberglass work and or filler work to clean them up .i allso know that on some you have to drill the holes for the fender bolts .
so yeah if you want the after market ones be ready to do some work and maybe pay more then the cost of just getting some oem ones
allso they make inserts for oem fenders if you are that worried about fit and still want the z3 or euro look ,and thats just cut to fit and molding
good luck ,hope it works out for you
