cel comes on when vtec suppose to hit and vtec doesent work help?!!?!

i have a 91 crx dx with and obd1 coversion the motor is a z6 i do not kno why this is not working just wanted to see if someone else has ever heard of this i also throw a ELD code Eletronic Load Detector and has very slow pickup ..............i was just wondering if anyone can help thanks

ELD should not influence drivability. I drove around with it for weeks.

Did you try to see if you have a code 13? I think that's vtc oil pressure. That's a fairly common problem bbetween OBD0- OBD1 swaps.

you know what i just started throwin a code 13 today when i rechecked my codes................... what is a code 13 and what would i do to fix this problem? vtec oil; pressure switch because i tried using a different one? thanks..

Depends on the type of ECU you are running.
You can either have someone who can run crome for instance, just disable the pressure check.

Or you can simply run power to the input on the ECU.

I opened up my own ECU and looped power to the sensor pin straight on the board.

i'm looking for this answer as well. when i rev to vtec engagement point the eld comes on vtec does not engage.

you should check this first.

next make sure your running the P28 ecu (dont try to make a VTEC switch, dumb idea FYI)

if your oil is full and you have the right ecu, check your grounds and make sure you have good tight connections.

if you do, take off the solenoid and valve assembly and see if the screen is clogged, if so then fix it.
