Default Head and dizzy questions OBD2 to OBD1

1998 Civic EX.
d16y8 motor.

I was having problem with the original head so I bought a complete 2000 civic EX head and had the shop do the swap.

Today, the shop called me saying that the head and distributor are slightly different. The original OBD1 dizzy won't bolt on to the new head. The location of the bolts are different. Is this true?

The new head came with an OBD2 dizzy but the plug is different.
Is it possible to rewire the OBD2 dizzy with the original OBD1 plug? If yes, do I follow the color or location of the wires?

Please advice. Thanks

You'll want to do it by location, not too much by color.

Your question seems kind of strange though. You say it's a '98 Civic, a D16Y8 engine, and you just got a '00 EX head installed on it. Where exactly does the OBD1 fit into this? The '98 Civic is OBD2A, the stock engine for the '98 EX is OBD2A, and the '00 D16Y8 head is OBD2B. You have to be leaving out some info here.

Ok, I thought 96-98 is OBD1.

So its OBD2A going to OBD2B

The shop told me the plug is different???

Nope, '92-'95 is OBD1.
If the plugs are different, then it's the bottom 2 plugs on that image that you'll be dealing with. Match the wires wire-for-wire, and wire at pin #5 and #10 are the same. Then you'll have to wire up that 1 solid Blue wire.
