Default Buying a gsr tomo? Good/bad deal.

Went to look at a 2001 blk gsr today. 1 Female owner with 54000 original miles. It has apexi N1 exhaust, aem cold air intake, comes with tein basics still in box, and a custom built system. Has a few dings and one rust spot that needs to be fixed. Interior is mint.
Also has 18inch rims that need tires which I will sell if I get the car. Everything mechanically works and felt smooth while driving. I used to have a 96 gsr and loved it.
Price we agreed would be 7k. What are some thoughts? Anything I need to look at before buying?

Clean title?
Maintenance Records?

7k sounds pretty good for a 01 with that mileage.

BTW, This is a TECH forum...

that's a good price for the miles. I wouldn't buy a modified car but if you think she didn't beat on it go for it.

Price sounds fair, assuming car is in good condition. Post pics

I bought a 2001 silver LS for 5800 with clean title and 81k on it.

I would do it just cause the miles are low. if everything checks out and it drives straight then i dont see why not

I actually think I saw the car you are looking at. It has some bubbling around the rear pass quarter panel? Car looks good otherwise.

Good deal for car with low miles like that.

nah she is trying to bs me. Now she wants to jack the price up cause she said she has another offer after we agreed on a price and I was supposed to be buying the car. Also the car was registered in FL and she wants me to pick the car up and drive it home with fake plates and no inspection sticker. And I live like 25 mins away so I don't know why she cant bring it to my house. I figured that she would be dying to bring the car over if I had a check waiting for 7k.

Get it car faxed. Rust is a big no no and requires a good amount of money to fix and get painted. Why woudl she want you to drive with fake plates if its registered in florida. Why is it registered in florida if she lives in new jersey? Stolen maybe?

how the hell does a car get rust like that? $20 says its been wrecked before and somebody did a shitty job of repairing it. i bet peeling back the interior plastic on the 1/4 panel will show you all you need to know.

i never bothered for a carfax. All body panels looked straight but it did seem weird that it had rust on that one side. It prob had been in an accident. Thanks for all the help. Gonna wait till something else comes up.
