ok so i just bought a crx..it has a b16a1 swap in it..there is something up with the starter and im not sure what it is..sometimes it starts sometimes it doesnt.. the guy told me if i doesnt start do this
put the car in gear.
have the clutch out.
rock the car to turn the crankshaft and reset the sensor.
then it should start
..which works sometimes but not always.
i dont no what sensor is he talking bout..im new to hondas..kinda..
he said the starter is grounded to the engine.
i really need to figure this out becuase my luck i will get stranded somewhere

Why dont you just get a new starter...

When i ran into this i just bought a starter solenoid kit to replace the contacts on the starter it was like a 20 min job and cost me about $20 instead of the 150 or so a new starter would run me might wanna check it out..

 

i have the same issue, i thought it was the starter so i took it off and tested it at my job and it tested fine as did my battery. so i have narrowed it down to possibly being the ignition wire i will be fixing it tomorrow. if it solves my problem ill let the OP know.

 

ok good news, i just made a new 10g starter wire that goes from my starter solenoid to the main harness plug just under the under hood fuse box, after 1 key turn i have ignition. so to the OP if your still having your srtarting problems try checking that wire. lmk if you need help.
