Is there anything that can be done, or saved from old McCulloch ballasts? I now have 2 and wondered if they can be repaired in any way. Other than a paperweight, do these useless ballasts have any purpose, or should I go ahead and chunk the $130 peices of poop? Thanks.

 

I may take them apart and see where boredom leads later this evening.

 

I had a bad one and tried to take it apart, but all the electronics were covereted in black "rubber" type stuff. I'm assuming it makes it water proof. I read a vendor on honda market place will take your old ballast (broke) and give you a $35 credit towards a new one.

 

Hmm link to that thread? Id be interested in doing that. I have 2 McCullochs that are useless to me.
