Looks to me like a Yamaha 750. I would just look over it cosmetically at first, check the frame for dings or scratches, make sure it runs smooth and all. That's my newbie advice, wait for the pros.
haha, ya I get it's a Yamaha 750
I was wondering what to google. Like yearish and or letters. YZ something maybe?
Appreciate the input though, I may check it out tonight after work. Of course, I don't even know how to ride a bike yet, another reason for the questions.

YZF750R
That was considered one of the best handling motorcycles in the mid to late 1990's. 20-valve Genesis engine, aluminum deltabox chassis, braced aluminum swing arm, 6-piston calipers - that thing was made to win.
If that bike was closer to CA and it ran, I'd buy it.
PS: I have the YZF600R.
