Default Custom Ducati Multistrada (Lots o' Pics)

i don't care to much for "naked" bikes, but i must say this is pretty damn nice.

what do you get when you have a bunch crazy italians...

with a workshop full of tools...

and a stock Ducati Multistrada and some time to spare?

you get this!!!

You can bend Titanium, but you need heat and a lot of force. It's not an easy metal to work with.

they were probably worried about crushing the Ti. by bending it so they thought this way would be a cleaner finished product.

It would be a nightmare to try and bend it they way they designed it. You could pie cut, bend and weld if you have the time, patience and skill. But sectional is probably the easiest/cheapest.

I was looking for a pic of the Rizla suzuki's undertail exhaust. It's done in sections and looks real trick.

Abstract; This is a Commemorative Speech for receiving "Distinguished Development Prize" of JTS at Anual General Meeting of JTS. Yoshimura Japan Co., Ltd has 40 years' history of Racing and Manufacturing of Exhaust Pipe for Motorcycle. Motorcycle with Titanium Exhaust system of Yoshimura Japan has got the victory at the BOL-DOR 24 hours endurance race in France. Titanium system was evaluated comparing to steel and stainless steel by lighter weight, less vibration and less crack damage. We have developed manual bending method. Titanium pipe with river sand in it is heated by gas burner and is bent by hand. By the way, the special rainbow color which occurs during heating, is welcomed by customers. Yoshimura has also developed "4 into 1 Exhaust Pipe" of motorcycle. Painting, plating and polishing are not necessary for Titanium exhaust pipe. This is important for decreasing delivery time and stock amount. Quality problem on surface treatment is also deleted. Environmentally, it is recommendable that chemical agents for painting and plating is not used for titanium pipe. Titanium parts will be more used in the future. Titanium is very good for recycle. It is also the advantage of titanium parts. (author abst.)</TD></TR></TABLE>

They should have stuck with that first style head light/windscreen, looked much cleaner IMO. Still an awesome bike.

It's pretty common to build myriads of combinations of exhaust during testing for two stroke racing in that fashion. He probably used to work for a team.
