Tranny rebuild HELP
Ok i am usually on team-integra.net but those guys aren't really tranny gurus. So i heard there is a bunch of tranny gurus here on honda-tech. so here is my story.
I have a gsr tranny that i am almost positive i have to rebuild. When i fist got it it was fine after about 1500 miles it started acting up.
If you drive in first gears around 3k rpm for about 5-10 seconds the shifter starts to vibrate and it pops out of gear. you also hear kinda a grinding sound from the tranny. Then sometimes it doesn't go in first when i try to put it in it grinds. other times it will go in perfect. if you in first and you driving and you let off the gas you can feel the shifter jerk and it does it when you hit the gas too. sometimes its hard to go in first sometimes it goes in fine.
Now my question is what parts will i need to replace when i open the tranny. Syncros? Gear? Gear sleeve? Shift fork?
any help welcomed

if it grinds it sounds like your synchros...hmm about it popping out of gear you have to check the bushings for your shiftcables if its jerking while its in gear and your synchros are worn your not gonna fully lock that gear in...does it do it also in second gear? and are 3rd and 4th fine???
u can also drain the oil in ur tranny if u have metal shavings in it your gears are probly going any brass shavings means your synchros are worn hope this helps...good luck

true i apologize.. is ur clutch slipping?? if the problems happen in 1st gear only it sounds like your gear sleeve ur best is to take a look at the trany if it pops out of gear your not fully locking that gear in an out of round clutch can make it pop out of gear but the grinding makes me believe its a sleeve or mayb ur 1st gears teeth are chipped...when are you planning on rebuilding ur tranny its not hard AT ALL ...

i doubt is the clutch because its a new excedy stage one clutch plus my b16 tranny i had before had no problem in first so it has to be the tranny. i will try the shifter bushing that might help the jerking.
