Default headers/exhaust setup for 5th gen n/a prelude

Any suggestions on a good exhaust setup. I'm looking at getting some ebay stainless steel headers with the apexi n1 exhaust...any other ideas??

Are you buying a $19.99 header off of eBay and expecting to make some good HP? A SMSP or Hytech header is always a good choice. They're a bit expensive but worth it. If not, you can get a GReddy or if you can find a Vibrant header and do the collector mod to it.

buddy club > greddy......ALWAYS.

greddy > dc > megan > ebay....etc... (dont really recommend buying any of these)

if you really wanna make power that actually makes a diffrence its gunna cost.
like the suggested hytech or smsp will make a LOT of power
but dont spend $1000 on a nice header and cheap out on your exhaust
get a custom muffler - resonator combo with 3" pipe installed at a good local shop
and dont spend all that money with out a ecu upgrade (OBD1 swap) to fuel it right
otherwise your not gettin full potential and wansting money
sooooooooooooooooo
that said
spend lots and get lots or just be happy with what you got and buy a c/f hood
going ebay cheap is worse than stock
my 2cent

I bought/installed an OBX header. It was the worst money I've spent on my car. The only things that changed was the tone and it made an exhaust leak somewhere. Luckily, I have an RS*R header waiting to be put on and now I just need to see about an exhaust. 2.5 or 3?

Moral of the story, SEARCH before you start putting usless parts on your car.

What kind of noise was it guys and at what rpm?
I just installed a JVT header and I cant find an exhaust leak anywhere

But when standing under the hood and just revving the engine off idle to around 3000 I can hear something.
Not loud, not a hissing but just dont know if its an exhaust leak or just the sound inside the headers from combustion. (Thin wall cheap header)

i think his was at or really close to 3500rpm. it makes a hissing sound as well....at first he shrugged it off....we joked around and told him to tell ppl it was boosted. but yea....it gets kinda annoying. it might be the gasket....he hasnt come around to getting a new one to see if it would remedy the problem. personally, im just gona save up and get an smsp header. till then.....stock will suit just fine....ill just work on the exterior

[edit]

his also made the sound while driving, but still only at the above rpm. it ALWAYS makes the sound at that rpm....hard accelleration, normal driving, everything.

as stated before, you are better off spending more money on a header and buying a POS exhaust.

ive got a mugen header and a $150 ebay exhaust. i don't really care how it sounds as long as it breaths and doesn't rust.
