First check your motor mounts. It's probably a bad motor mount and something is hitting somewhere, header or IM or transmission.

2nd, an aftermarket exhaust could be clunking, exhaust tunnel or somewhere else. But that could also be due to motor mounts

Next, could be brake pads, but that should be obvious...

Last, would check axles, could be a bad axle, but you'd hear it more often.

haha more like NOTBB6lovin..

yeah i thought id be the axle, as the sound is similar with the sound my 4thegn mad when i had a bad axle. but the sound is only during 1st/reverse from a stop.

the car is basically stock. i spotted one motor mount but i was wondering exactly how many motor mounts on on these 5th gens?

im guessing it might be something tranny/clutch wise?not sure yet..or how to check any ideas??

i believe i am having the same problem. it's been doing it since i first bought it 3 years ago and it only happens in the heat of the summer. sometimes I can make it happen by just letting the car roll really slowly and it would be continuous and going straight...a friend told me it could be my intermediate shaft..i might just try it. i'm really thinking of trading my car in because of this
