Default help! intake!

hi. i have bought a new intake for my 97 prelude and i have taken out my old intake but i have noticed there is a hole near the left wheel where the air for the old intake used to go through. i am a noob and i am not sure what to do so do i just leave this whole there, or cover it before putting on my new short ram intake? i took a pic just incase u dindt know what i mean. plz help

just leave but it looks like u still have the air box in it which i personally took out. but it wont hurt anything like that

no i took out the air box (the thing with the clips on the bottom). thats just the whole the goes into the actual car. so just leave it alone? alright

Lol, the thing with clips is your air intake filter box.

Under the hole is a resonator box for the air intake. Its a bunch of useless crap once you put in a SRI.

Now if you had a CAI it would have to be removed. Other wise as of right now its your choice to leave it or remove it.

As for the hole. Unless you are going to shave it off, leave it alone.

You can just leave it like that and it'll be fine. However you might get a little more airflow to the intake if you remove the resonator (black box under that "hole"). You will then have an empty space that goes all the way down to the splash guard under the bumper.

Removing the bumper will save you a lot of time and hassle, it took me a while (and many cuts and scratches to the hands) to find and reach the bolts that are holding the resonator in place.

Also, I forgot to mention that you can remove the buttery valve vacuum unit. In your picture it is the dirty black/gray plastic box that's about the size of computer mouse next to the battery (with the vacuum line going to it). This item is useless once you have removed the stock intake resonator.
