Already time to start tearing into the EVOX's
one of our in house projects for the 2008 SEMA show showed up this week from Driveline Motoring. the car only has ~140 miles on the clock...

Our EVOX also just returned from HydraEMS after having the first standalone EMS installed and is running just like factory.

I had the same style on order, but in 4x100 lug pattern. I will talk to my friend who just picked up an 05 Evo though.

I got to see one of these up close last week for the first time. Personally, I wasn't all that impressed how it looks. It just looks so plain, and the interior looks so cheap. I was very disappointed. I really wanted to check out the turbo and manifold, but with all the stuff in the way it was pretty much impossible. Can't wait to see how it looks when you guys are PeekBoost are done with it!

perfect isn't it?
looks like a chicks lancer, and the interior is cheap so no regrets gutting it and beating the hell out of it

I was basing my opinion by a comparison of the Evo 8's & 9's to the Evo 10. I realize that the Evo's are production versions of rally and road racing cars, and not a luxury car. And being a Civic owner, I can say that the new Evo looks cheap, because I didn't spend $40,000 to buy my Civic. When you spend that much money, the entire car should represent that price, not just the performance of it. Here's a picture of the dash:

The upper center part looks almost exactly the same as the Evo 8/9. They redesigned an entire car, but couldn't see fit to redesign the dash a little more? The dash as a whole also looks like it was made from cheap thin plastic.
Here's a picture of the gauge cluster:

Those 2 big rings look hideous, IMO. It looks even worse in person. You can also see what the dash is made of a little better here too.
The trunk is basically non-existent. You could probably fit some golf clubs in there, and have no room for anything else. I don't expect people to be able to fit a freaking TV in there, but there should be some room. The stock seats look horrible as well. They may hold you in tight, but they could be more visually appealing.
My whole point is that based on looks alone, this car is not worth $40,000. Frankly it looks like an American made car with a Mitsu badge on it. Where they cut corners where ever they could, to be able to sell it for a semi-reasonable price. I'm not knocking this car's performance in any way, it's making really good numbers with very little aftermarket parts. If someone's going to shell out that much money, the car should look good as well as perform. IMO a used Evo 9 would be a better choice. I'm being real here. I've done work on Evo 8's and a little on Evo 9's, those are some really nice cars.

Because we're talking about 16 year old Civics
My 95 Si interior has no where near the amount of rattles that the EVO's I have driven do.

lol I love it how this got turned an interior thread.
this X's interior creeks alot, I think the seat brackets need some tightening

Our EVO8 and X are pretty quiet inside, but they both have less than 12k miles.

its not a family car, most people who buy it are'nt worried about baby seat tie downs, trunk space or how big the dash is, lets face it. it was a car ready to have a cage thrown in it, modfied and raced.
you're compairing it to a civic, which WAS a family car. so it has all that stuff you want/need in a daily driver
it's like saying corvette's suc becuase you can't bring your family around and store grociries in it
