can anyone tell me if the egr valve is specific to the engine?

 

which engine?? give some more info please but most of them are interchangeable.

 

its on my base prelude (h22a4) i jus wanted to know if an egr valve from another series would work on it with no problems.

 

Part numbers are the same for all 4th and 5th gen Preludes. Hondaautomotiveparts.com

So that means you can use any H-series valve or an F22 SOHC valve.

 

thanks man cuz the guy i bought it off of said it needed a new one or it could be cleaned. but its is effecting my idle and dropping to about 500 prms. is that just the egr valve?

 

any check engine lights?

Maybe. Clean it out and see what happens.

 

ok. now do i have to use that kit where u clean it out and drill and tap it, and use those 6 plugs?
