is it pssible to remove the solenoid element from the starter housing?
This is a Nippondenso gear reduction starter
I want to repair a solenoid that has lost strength.
I would like to know what is involved in pulling the coil from its housing.
I have the starter broken down and there is nothing but the coil inside the flat-sided housing, all connectors are desoldered.
Does this take a special press?
Is it just not possible at all?
I have my reasons for wanting to rebuild this rather that toss it.
