Default DIY City lights for civic headlights.

I have an em2 but im pretty sure this mod could be done to most civic headlights.

before i start this i have a question.... i have parking lights that are 168 and they do nothing for me.
i was going to disconnect them when one of the bulbs broke but i saw a few pics on the picture gallery and gave me an idea.

just reroute the parking lights to the inside of the headlights. simply drill through mount and seal. SEAL! LOL

does this seem logical to you guys? i really dont want to get more wire, new plug, on.off switch and hassle with it when i can take preexisting sockets that are right there. any thoughts before i start?

btw, ill be using a 168 led light in yellow or amber. most likely yellow. i love the look.

comments good or bad please

168 is a higher wattage bulb than the typical 194 bulb used for "city lights" (exact same shape, size, and mount), but since you're using LEDs I doubt that matters (its probably the same LED used for both applications).

Be careful when you drill the headlights. You don't want to remove material from the portion of the reflector that is important. I don't know what an EM2 is, but am assuming a Civic of some sort, and probably one with the same bulb for both low and high beams (single bulb reflector style). If so, you want to make certain that the city light is mounted in a portion of the reflector only used by the high beam, so you don't reduce your low beam visibility.

the em2 is 01-05 civic 2dr. well 168 is brighter than 194. the bulb will be in the front left corner (facing the front of the headlight) and will use the reflection to make it brighter and more BAM! thanks for your input though. ultimately i will do a bixenon projector retrofit so reflection wont be a worry.
