Need some help finding the problem.
i have a 98 honda accord ex v6 that is misfiring in all cylinders.

I pulled the code and it says its misfiring in all cylinders.
Change the plugs, distributor cap, wires, and egv valve with no help.

The car misfires bad and the speedometer moves ertically when its driving or idling.

any ideas?

 

Nope. Never even hear of a complaint like that (on a 98 Acc EX V6), and I've been a Honda tech for 17 years.

Exactly what codes do you have? Does the engine misfire or does it just set the P0300 code?

 

the code reader says its misfiring in p0301 p0302 p0303 p0304 p0305 p0306
and i get a p1399 code

you can feel the engine misfire when idling and even worse when trying to drive.

when the car is idling, the speedometer and tach move crazy back and forth
and even worse when driving.

I already changed the egr valve, distributor, plugs, and wires.
I gapped the plugs at .40 and took them out to look at them, and they look fine.

not sure what the problem could be

It's hard to diagnose a car over the internet, but shooting from the hip, it sounds like you have a problem with your ignition coil. That would explain your erratic tachometer (you didn't really mean speedometer, did you?) and misfire. That year V6 Accord uses an exterior coil and coil wire. Check both.

Hopefully you didn't create a new problem with cheap spark plugs and plug wires. You didn't install Bosch platinums and Autozone plug wires, did you?

 

the tach moves around a bit
but the speedometer moves like crazy when idling or driving.

i used oem wires from honda and i believe ngk plugs from honda.
got hte parts from the dealer.

the car seemed to be getting worse and misfiring even worse last night when i cranked it.

tried to crank it again this morning, and it wont crank.

checked the fuel pump, fuel injectors and they work fine.
had the egr valve replaced and the distributor cap replaced.

the car wont even crank now
