from what ive heard, they have been proven to heat soak faster than oem and decrease performance

yes, i've heard that that intake decreases performance. my mechanic dyno'd his car with one and lost power, but when he put back on a 3'' diameter CAI, he gained back power.

if you already have a 3'' intake pipe lying around, just go and buy a velocity stack and a new filter to go with it. those are proved to give around 2-3 extra horsies.
