im looking to buy a new ecu chip for my 97 prelude h22a bb6. does anyone know the ECU ID for the 97 prelude? thanks. and any suggestions on what kind of chip to buy i was looking into mugen chips but im not sure.

 

im pretty sure its a p5m.....as far as the chip, its really your personal choice....mugen,spoon,jun they mostly do the same things just some have diferent vtec engagment points and some dont have rev limiters(which i would stay away from if you dont have great experience with driving without one)....im just saying that one missed shift when jumpin on it there goes the valves....pick and choose wisely

 

ive seen some that just increase ur rev limit. is that as bad as what you say ?

 

well a h22 is not as high of a rev engine like the b series so i wouldnt push it past its originally set rev limiter...its there for a reason, unless you wanna bend valves or throw a rod which i know you dont wanna do that...with a stock motor i wouldnt even put a chip in but thats just my opinion
