High temp brake ducting...
Where do you get this high temp ducting for brake ducts? I see some in my Racer Parts Wholesale catalog but it seems a bit silly to pay 38 bucks for just 10' of 2" ducting. What is it impregnated with gold?
My brake ducts got shredded during my agricultural excusion at Summit. I have heard some people say that there is some kind of ducting sold at Home Depot but I have never found anything there oh under say 6" in diameter or something. hehe.
Thanks,
Chris

I go to a Sears Hardware store and get 3" aluminum dryer duct tubing. It is like $2 for a length long enough to do both ducts. It works great, though just about any off-course excursion requires making new ones.

I bought 3" duct pipe at Home Depot for my..umm...home-made intake thingy..if you could call it that.. They had tons of that stuff. I would suggest trying to avoid "agricultural excursions" in the future

i was actually just at home despot picking up supplies to put together a brake-pressure-bleeder. At any rate, i perused the dryer ducting section and they had plenty of 2" and 3" ducting. It was very flimsy stuff but as long as you dont try to take scenic routes like the 5-8 expressway at summit they look like they'll be fine. I'm gonna pull my foglamps out and see where i can zip-tie that stuff to my underbody before i head to CMP (when i ordered my XP's today from carbotech larry gave me a stern talking to about getting some ducting in there before i go).

There are two types of dryer ducting. The shiny faux-chrome looking stuff that's thin plastic and floppy. Then there's also the stuff that's actually aluminum that you can get that I think Bookler is talking about. This stuff is a good bit more sturdy, I used it to make some extra oil cooler ducts for the Pantera which held up pretty well. They routed about 3 inches away from the headers at one point, never melted.

I broke the pads in during my first session Sunday...
then went to Gingerman (2-day) and then to Watkins (2-day) and will finish them up at JC this weekend.

The cheap stuff will wear out quickly, even without any agricultural excursions, and will require periodic replacement. The expensive stuff is a lot more durable.

Yep. I have decided just to buy the expensive stuff and be done with it.

Ok, so how about the duct scoops? Any good, preferably local and cheap, solutions for that? (I have actually considered using a funnel)
Do trhey sell NACA ducts too?
You are "in the know" on race parts suppliers!

I just live in Nasskar country.... there is a big cash in selling used stuff... it helps newbies get started with low cash output.
Fyi.. M.M. is a awsome place to visit... I need to get some pics of the insides.

Black would be perfect. I assume they have MANY different dimensions.
Do they have a web presence, or a catalog? I guess their inventory changes pretty often . . . . .
