Default 16x8's for lapping/wheel to wheel

Howdy!

Trying to find wheel options in 16x8's and wondering if anyone else is/has used them in the past. Its going on my 4x100 integra and i'm slowly building it up for H1 use.

I like the 8's because of all the 245's tires around but so far I've only found a couple that are both light, and fit. The RPF1's and the TE37's. The volks may be a little pricey for race use, but if its the right size... Also I'm concerned about the RPF1's weight and brake clearance. But the price is more palatable... lol

Any other thoughts or opinions from folks who have raced that size wheel before? What else is out there and roughly 10-13 lbs?

rota also has some slipstream 16x8 4x100 wheels, but probably not that light

Rota RB's are also come in a 16x8.

Axis/Konig/sportmax also have a few 16x8's as well iirc, if on a budget.

Most of the 16" tires that you'll want (or that are worth putting on a track car) are too tall for most Hondas. A 15x8 will give you the same width options with better tire selection. Or, if you're really serious, 17x8 or 17x9, which also has good tire selection.

I've thought about the rota's actually just to try out the 16's. It may be a thought.

I need the extra height frankly. I've got a stock K24A2 with a 4.7 final K20A tranny. Its got a great torque curve(see dyno below) and i just cant hold out the gears quite as long as I'd like and dont want to bump the redline anymore then 8200.

The 245x45-16's are about 24.7" tall vs the 245x40-17's at 24.8 I could get lower and wider on the 17's but i'm curious about trying out these 16's and I've got a feeling they should be pretty fast. Plus, the wide/low 17's may be a little out of my league anyways. The cars not set up very stiff yet, and I'm fairly fresh(3 years now)

Thinking about it Stinky, I looked at the 255 40 in the 17's and they're perhaps a little tall at 25" but the extra width would be nice...

The tire height might be ok for you then. However, keep in mind that with the added height and width your ride height will need to go up to keep the body off the tires. May not be an issue for you, just another factor to be aware of. Likewise, just be careful with wheel offset, as those widths will be getting pretty tight near the shocks/trailing arms. In other words, break out that fender roller
