1990 Civic Si - D16A6 Wrong Clutch issue
I have a 1990 Honda Civic Si - was made in canada and sold in Hawaii. Has a D16A6.
I have finally decided to put in the OEM clutch that has been in my basement for a couple years before the old one goes. When i removed the old clutch, I noticed that it is significantly smaller in diameter (pressure plate and friction disk) compared to the one I purchased before. So, I went to see what part number i'm supposed to have and it's
22200 - PM7 - L01 for the disk
22300 - PM7 - L00 for the pressure plate
piolet bearing and release bearing are the same - no issue.
I have the exact same clutch disk part number for my car and it is larger than what came off of it.
The OEM combo I have match eachother and the parts on the car match eachother but the parts list is not the same as what fits on my flywheel.
Is someone able to reference the D16A6 clutch part numbers or had an experience with this? Was there 2 different clutches available? Any input or questions please feel free to post. Ty

well here's the thing with 88-91 civic/crx. i had this same exact problem with my 89 si.
89-91 civic/crx si came with a 20 spline input shaft while the 88 came with a 21 spline.
while your car may be a 90-91, the trans could be something different.
Edit:
also diameter also changes in years
'88-89 has a 7.5" diameter; 89 also has a 7.8"; and a 90-91 has a 8.3" diameter

hmm that's great lol
the splines are correct and have been checked. But the one from the car must be the 7.8"diameter and the one called for is 8.3"...
But what i decided to do is take the clutch down to a place i know that does a lot of racing clutches. They can check, rebuild the clutch and make everything in the right clearance - for less money than buying a new one.
Curious - where did you find the diameter specifications? Thank you for the info - if i do need to get a new one that will be good to know.
