Default my 98 gsr isn't running right

My gsr was running the night before. Next morning, my gsr couldn't start. So I bought new parts like distributor cap, spark plug wires, spark plugs, and a rotor. Still my gsr didn't start. So, I use the ignitor and coil from a d16y8 and started right up. I used my car all day. The next morning, it doesn't want to start again. I took off the distributor cap and looked inside. I notice that the terminals was covered with some sort of white film or like it got powder coated. So, I scraped it off and put it back on. She started once again. About lunch time, I was driving the car and stomped on the gas and it went crazy (bogging out) and died out. Damn, I thought they sold me a faulty distributor cap so I bought another one. I put that on and it started. Then, it started to act up again...when i put more gas to it, it started to bog and wants to die out...and eventually it did...i am so ****. I opened it and scraped that crap off the terminals and drove it home slowly....

My question is what the hell is going on??? do i have to use a gsr coil and ignitor?? is the civic ignitor and coil too weak...??? what causes that powder coated terminals in the distributor cap?

Really need help.....THANKS!!!!!!

You can test if your original gsr ignitor and coil are bad. I would throw out the d16 parts and only get ones for your car and see how it runs. A couple other things to look at is your fuel filter and the main relay can sometimes cause intermitant starting. Dont go out buying and replacing parts, just keep testing stuff untill you find out what went bad.
