no.. get a tranny for a h22.

well let me clarify. you can go cheap and get a f series tranny, but be smart, and get the right tranny for the motor, that will get the most out of the motor. get a h tranny.

not necessarily. If he wants more fuel economy at the sacrifice of a touch of speed/acceleration at certain points, than he could install an F series tranny.

He could do an h23 tranny too if he wanted.

it will work, but the gears will be a lot longer. I run one becuase a swapped from a base model, and wanted the better mileage. You will drop out of vtec between first and second, and you will be doing about 70 at the top of second gear.

if you go to one of the "self-serve" junk yards you can find one for dirt cheap. at my local Pick-N-Pull I get manual trans for about $80 (there's a 4th gen Lude there now but I have no clue if it's auto/manual and shipping a trans would probably cost several unborn children).

Like the previous guys have stated though, you can use any trans that came mated to any H-series or F-series engine from the factory.

F-series would be good if you want to boost.

any f series trans will fit on the h block but be carefull not all f trans will fit into the prelude frame, 92 and up f trans will work the years below have a different trans bracket mounting locations.

mainly applies to accord trans.
