Why doesn't acura cut a deal with HKS or GReddy to release an aftermarket tunned Type S through their dealers, similar to a mustang steeda. That would be bad-a$$.

As of this year you can buy an svt cobra with a stock supercharger running 390hp. Im not saying that an aftermarket tunned RSX would have to have FI (although that would be just....freaking awesome) but like the steeda mustang have a trim with small production numbers that comes with alot of the mods you would put on, in one tested together package.

keep in mind there's a much larger market for the mustang, and that the cobra costs considerably more ($40K).

honda's in this business to make money. they don't see much market for a Type R, let alone a friggin tuner-backed version of their car.

The Type R didn't sell like they wanted, believe it or not. 50% of that is thanks to dealers. but it's show honda that anything performance-based is not going to get them the real $$$ in this country.

 

in the good old land of the rising sun factory based performance shops like

honda+mugen
nissan+nismo
mazda+mazdaspeed
subaru+STI
mitsubishi+Ralliart
toyota+TRD
they can make mucho bucks off of performance parts...but in the US that kinda performace doesnt make as much money over here , as it does over there....whos gonna have to install this facorty prepared greddy or hks goodies , the factory, and who has to warranty them....acura ...acura really is simply a luxury division of honda now...its no longer much into performance..the only thing we seem to get now is the Type S ... rsx and TL , Cl's ...which is half performance , half luxury, they seem to really want ot get out of the performance scene...who really wants to be a reputable manufactuer thats know for building cars made for street racers , i guess they must have watched the Fast & the Furious too.....

 

Oh god, that damn movie is the root of all evil...LOL...And to top it off they are making part 2 of it, and the sad thing is that we are all going to see it too.. LOL..

 

not a good sign acura is sending with that performace package...but hopefully they'll see the wrong of their ways....lets hope they dont watch F&F 2

 

I hope this isnt acura's way of saying " hey we are screwing you guys over again and your not getting the type R, enjoy" Give us the damn Type R.. heheh
