95 H23 balancer shafts. Is it safe to run motor without them?
Does anyone know if its safe to run an H23 motor without the balancer shafts? I put the motor back together after repairing an oil leak, and now I believe I installed the rear balancer shaft gears housing a tooth or two off. I really dont feel like tearing the motor apart again. And a buddy of mine said he took the belt off his H22 and it ran fine. Does anyone else know if its ok? Thanks

Im sorry about putting a new thread out there. I'm using the computer at work, since I have the car here, and it was faster for me to type a new thread. Sorry about that. Thanks for the info. I think I will be removing the BS belt after all. I believe that my rear BS is off by a tooth or two (I removed the gear housing when I had to repair a groove in my crank where the main crank seal goes. She seeped oil bad. $30 speedy sleeve from SKF solved that problem. But yeah, thanks.
