Default Dohc ZC Code 8 Crx

I've just finished my swap of a Dohc ZC, Everything is plugged in, car starts up but is huffing, ecu shows code 8? I'm using the ZC distributor, could that be the problem?

Is this problem common? It's my first type doing a Dohc ZC swap. What should I check for troubleshooting code 8?

code 8 could be caused by bad distributor, problem with distributor wiring or camshaft timing not correct - the correct distributor for the OBD0 DOHC ZC is TD03U, which came on the 88-91 JDM DOHC ZC and on the 88-89 USDM Integra D16A1

do you have the spark plug wires in the correct location on the distributor cap? they aren't the same as SOHC

The distributor I didn't even touch, it came on my Dohc ZC engine. I used that along with the spark plug wires. I also wired up the firing order base on that picture you gave me because I had a printout of the wiring order.

The distributor came with it and it plug straight into my wire harness that I got from ebay, everything is plugged, just not sure why the engine started up shaking like crazy but it does stay on, just shakes alot and ecu throw code 8.

I changed out my ecu with a PM6 Crx Si ecu, and now I'm getting a code 4, it will rev up to 3,100 RPM then won't go pass that anymore. Code 4 = ???? Something that has to do with the distributor?

Is it me or this DOHC ZC distributor is acting difficult? Firing order is right, not sure what's going on.

Yepp it's hooked up, I got a complete wire harness from ebay that I used with the dohc zc swap, because my crx wad DPFI and it's a dx, so the old harness was remove and the new harness was used. Everything plug, sensor, is plugged up. I also wire 4 wires into the ecu side just like what the instruction stated.

It's weird because when I used my crx dx ecu, I get a code 8.
I put a crx si pm6 ecu and now I'm getting a code 4.

Wonder if I put a pg7 or pm7 would this go away? I'll double check the wiring again on the exhaust cam.

If the sensor is mess up or not working right, how would I go upon fixing this? what distributor can I use? Can I use my stock crx dx ignitor and the coil from the sohc distributor? I will check it today, thanks

I checked the distributor internals, rotors, coil, cap, module and everything is good. I then went back to my ecu side and checked my wiring.

Turns out my wiring with the oem pin didn't clip in all the way into the B10 slot. Anyways, crx is running now like how it should be. I still 2 vaccum tubes that aren't connected, I think it's #12 tube on the intake manifold side.
