Default Battery Drain Problem

I have something on my car that is slowly draining the battery. To check and see what circuit on the car was doing this, I hooked up a multimeter in series with my battery and checked the current while the car was off. I realized that there was a pretty significant drop in current being drawn when I removed the fuse to the horn in the engine bay. One weird thing about this is that if I drive while this fuse is removed, the car starts beeping at me and acts as if the door is ajar. I'm assuming that this is because this circuit is hooked up to the seatbelt in some way and the car is trying to make it so I don't drive around with my seatbelt not acting correctly. Any ideas on what could be causing this battery drain and how to fix it?

If the door trigger is not functioning properly, and the car thinks that the door is open - this will draw current through the door mounted seatbelt.

There should be a green/red wire going to each door trigger. Try to manually ground these wires one at a time and test again to isolate which door trigger is the problem. You might be able to clean the corrosion off of the door trigger so it starts working again but they are cheap either way.

Hi, I know it has been a month since you posted this, but since this just happened to me - I would like to thank you for your suggestion. My hatch door is busted and the "open door" light is on while I drive, when I shut down the car and all lights are off my battery still gets drained. I wonder if your suggestion applies here as well. WIll give it a shot tomorrow - and I will let you guys now. Thanks.
