Can A tune be made w/o Air Intake sensor?
B16a2 swap turbo with hondata s300. Last week i took the car to get tuned to the only place in New York i heard of. However when the guys hooked it up they said the air intake sensor read error. I have no air intake sensor and the spot on the intake manifold is sealed shut. So do i have to rewire one? if so I was thinking on tapping into my intercooler piping near the BOV. Good idea? or can i still have it tuned w/o the sensor. Thanks.
Air Intake Sensor?
Do you mean MAP sensor, Intake Air Temperature sensor, or Idle Air Control Valve?
Do not tune without a MAP sensor.
You can tune without an IAT sensor because the IAT value gets set to a default number when there's an error, but your tune will no longer compensate for summer/winter differences in ambient temperature and it will either run lean or rich because of this.
The IACV is not necessary and can be disabled. You can tune without this and won't see any major complications.

I dont know much about the tuning aspect of it, but i think hes referring to the sensor in the intake manifold right below the throttle cable. i have a similar setup sealing that sensor but haven't gotten to tune it yet. good luck!
You cannot calculate load on a speed density system without an intake air temperature sensor. Manifold Air Pressure and engine speed are only a part of the equation.
Most of the newer cars have the IAT in the intake arm. Yes, you need a IAT to properly tune. Without temperature compensation, your car could run lean or rich depending on how different the ambient conditions were from when you got a tune.
