Default HVAC issues.

Hey. Long time since I've been on here but my schedule just opened up and I have time to work on my wagon again.

Problem, my fan only works in level 3-4. Second, on 3-4, it blows poorly. I think the fan resistor might be shot. I have to rip the dash out to verify it but before I do that I'm asking you guys.

I've seen this before on many older EFs so I'll be buying a new resistor from honda if they can still get it. I'm also gonna rip the blower fan out and inspect/clean as much of the venting as possible. Thing is the wagon HVAC was molded in japan (uses white plastic, quality stamps are in Japanese), can I still get these parts in North America? The wagon is a rare car therefore the parts are rare. Honda stopped making alot of parts for it, which sucked when I needed new rear wheel cylinders.

Anyone else have experience with cleaning/repairing the HVACs? I would like some tips and pointers.

You are most likely right about the blower resistor going bad, thats why you have lost the two low speeds, and im sure the 3rd will follow shortly.

The wagon boxes should be the same, I replaced my blower motor in my EE4 with a hatch blower and it went right in. Check to make sure that your cables are all operating the blend doors correctly also, that could cause the poor flow.
