my k20a blue print racing Itr all motor build
I have had my car off the road for about 4 to 4.5 years now. I originally just bent valves in my stock b18c5 and tore the whole motor down to make sure everything was ok and wanted to build a n/a setup. Bought parts for it and then decided i wanted to go turbo but didnt have the cash at the time so i waited and then started hearing about the k swaps. So i purchased off my friend a k20a rbc motor from a friend that is out of a euro r accord. The rbc euro r accord motor is weird because it is setup like a k24. The head is the same i think or very similar to the new civic si and comes stock with the rbc that many people put on their type s motors, the block is a k20a and the oil pump has balancing shafts like a k24. I was originally just going to run blue print stage 2 cams and valve train but when i proceeded to compress the cylinders to change the valve springs air was rushing out thru the exhaust and intake ports
. So i tore the motor down and it looked in bad shape on the inside. So i sent the motor out to blue print to get built. I had the following done:
Stage 1 head work with over sized intake valves
Flat faced intake and exhaust valves
Blue print valve springs and retainers
Wiseco 11:7 comp pistons
Blue print light weight rods that i had teflon coated
Teflon coated crank
I also had to purchase an itr trans since a the euro r trans casing in like a k24 one also and would not work. I put in an excedy 9 pd flywheel and stage 1 clutch.
other parts in my build are:
rdx 410 cc injectors
bdl fuel rail
aeromotive fpr
velocity stack with k&n filter
hasport mounts
hasport stage 1 axles
hytech modified oil pump
r crew header
spoon wire cover
fake spoon valve cover
blue print stage 2 cams
hondata k pro
arp head studs
samco yellow hoses
hybrid racing fuel lines
rsx radiator
chain tensioner modified by chunky
I am 99% done just need a catback, o2 sensor, and tune by jeff evans
. I wish i would have taking more and better pics but i am not the kind of person to take alot of pics of things. Also thru the process i did a ok job doing a wire tuck for my first time. I cant wait till its running its been soooo long since i have driven the R. Well here are some crappy pics lol.
Oh i still need to save up money for paint now.

With the price of the motor, getting it built, trans, i would say 10k+ plus easily i never really added up the cost of everything yet. I would have not spent so much if the motor hadn't needed to be built and prob is the reason why it took so long to finish it.
thanks for the comment

thanks for all the nice comments guys i was actually kind of iffy posting it up because i know their is allot of people here who disagree with k series but everyone has their own preference and likes/dislikes.
that totaled r was a friends car that i stripped and bought another r shell and brought it back life.
for the price i was just throwing that out there it could easily be more i bought allot of parts in the past couple years when things were just coming out and nothing could be found used. now with this being a new fad you can easily find parts allot cheaper and used which can save allot of money. i also wish my friend didn't hold onto the motor for a year so i could of went back to the engine co. he purchased it from and shown it was blown but stuff happens, and i think it was better anyways now i know i have a fresh motor in my car.

in my opinion i think that a k series is the perfect powerplant for an integra. its worth the money to swap one in and you have way more room left over to make more power out of it.
my friend spent 1 year and almost $6000 to build his LSV and have it tuned by church auto. it made 245whp. so i mean i can spend around $6k on a fullbuild or $6k on a K series swap and have room to improve and pass up 240hp easily.
but thats just me :]
