Default How do i put my own sub system in an 08 honda civic?

I was wondering if i could put my 15in diamond sub in the trunck of an 08 civic but there seems to be no way of getting in to the head unit. Has anyone done this successfully? And will the alternator be able to handle my 750 watt amp and capacitor?

what? are you serious? you can put a system in ANY car. yes is the answer.

i have a beefier setup than you and the stock alternator has been fine, over a year now.

OK, but how would be the question< i was talking to my local honda dealer and they said i would have to go throught them to get it installed ( i know they want more money and that there has to be a way to hook a sub up ) but my question is " How?" i have been looking at the head unut and its a part of the dash, how do you get behind the head unit to hook up the remote wire and the rca jacks? If someone could tell me how they did that then the rest would be easy.

I do not have an existing sub in my car though< i have a 08 honda civic LX and it does not come with the base package. there has to be a better way. I read the steps to put one in with a sub and it all seemed complicated and alot of splicing.

Yes and yes and you need one of these... http://www.scosche.com/product.../1387 if the amp you have does not have high level, [speaker] inputs. 94

Would've been helpful if you mentioned that in your first post.

Yes, he mentioned that he has a 2008 Civic. However, he didn't mention that it was the LX model, which doesn't include a "Premium Sound System" It comes with the 160 watt, plain jane system.

I think their might be a factory accessory/option for something along the lines of an amp and small (6.5"?) "bass speakers" .. but .. yeah .. nothing to really brag about. The SI, of course, has the goodies. 350w 7 speaker system
