ABS light came on! Help please!
1999 Honda prelude non-SH 5th gen
My ABS light came on recently..
I can't hear the ABS engage anymore
after I start the car and start moving.
Have brake fluid. the brakes work fine
Tried to reset everything by pulling the
negative from the battery. Don't know
why it's on... Anyone have any Ideas?
The car has almost 43,000 miles..
Never have had this problem before.
Also I don't think I have changed the Brakes either.
But the brakes seem to work fine no noises coming
from the brakes warning me pads are low..

last abs prob I had was due to one of the wheel sensors, having a bit of gunk over it. it was a very easy fix.
basically you remove your tire, remove the 2 bolts that hold the sensor to the steering knuckle, and wipe it with a clean cloth, the gear it picks up from is part of your cv shaft, sometimes this can become grease covered etc (especially if you have a crack/leaky boot) use a wire brush and clean up all the gear - rotating it a portion at a time, it's all quite easily accesible with the tire off. there is a specified gap in the helms as well, you should probably check your front and rear sensors meet that criteria.
the hardest part will be determining which of the four sensors are screwing up... and of course perhaps this isn't your problem at all.
good luck.

check for the abs code and search for what the code means here on h-t. if it's a wheel sensor problem the code will tell you which one it is.
