97 prelude bogging down, Please help!!!
hey guys,
im new to the bored and really needing some advise
i have a 97 prelude 166 thousand miles on it with new piston rings and rebuilt head. just bought it about two weeks ago. and noticing it bogs down off and on for no apparent reason and at any rpm range, i changed the spark plug, wires new cap and rotor button and fuel filter
i cant for the life of me figure out what is going on, then today it died, it would start up ok some times and other not, and when i would give it gas the rpm's would drop all the way down and most of the time die, i played around with the vacuum hoses and found when i would unhook one of the hoses from the charcoal canister it would idle at 1000 but would run fine, so i think it might be bad and need to be replaced.
but it still bogs down really bad, if any one could please help me or give me advise on what could be wrong i would much appreciate it thanks for all the help guys

hmm... What if the charcoal canister is clogged?
I've never experienced a problem like that though.
bump, for curiosity

Could be a fuel problem also. I would try getting your fuel filter replaced since it has such high mileage and see if it helps.
I melted a cat on my car a long time ago. It was simular 2 what ur problem is... I would hit V-tak and it just bogged like he'll... Good luck
