5 or 6 point harness questions...
Looking for either one, and would like:
-3" shoulder straps (full or half length)
-shoulder straps must be wrap arounds or ability to convert to wrap around
-would prefer 6 point, as it would be easier to setup than a 5 point in my current configuration, but 5 point is ok.
-camlock
-pull down shoulders
-pull up or down anti-sub straps
Was looking at the Sparco 6 point but neither the website or other 3rd party sites mention about the shoulder straps being changed to wrap around. I also have a local Simpson dealer that I might be able to have him piece together a harness for me.
Also, I know this can differ between manufacturers, but for the anti-sub straps, what exactly is the correct angle of attachment, and what's considered the proper way to attach the anchors for them as well as the hip straps.

almost any harness can be "converted" to wrap around. Something from sparco could most certainly be converted if not already ready for warp around.
Really the only time you find harnesses that aren't wrap around is with manufactures who work with formula, drag, and NASCAR stuff. Crow, Willans, Safecraft, are the only ones i really know about that do that stuff.
As far as how to mount the 6 point, that completely depends on the manufacturer. Willans wants you to set on them and mount the near the lap belts. While Scroth (sp) wants them to down the "5th point" whole in the seat and mount under your butt within so many inchs.

I was talking to my Dad, runs Formula Vee in SCCA, last night about it and he mentioned I could do it the way Willans does, but use the same eye bolt. Thats how his 6 point is in the Vee.
I emailed Sparco about it so I'll see what they say. If I can convert to wrap around I'll probably order their 6 point soon.

I would be running NASA HPDE's and possibly TT in the near future. For now the car is a daily/non-sanctioned HPDE car. I would not used the harness while street driving obviously. I still have my OE 3 point installed.

I have this one but if you are planning to race and will need HANS in the future I would get the HANS version which is only a bit more.
