88 CRX DX engine and trans into 89 CRX HF shell - drop in fit?
the 88 21 splines are where the input shaft of the transmission fits into the clutch disc - has nothing to do with axles - you can use your HF axles with any 88-91 CRX/Civic L3 transmission (except for JDM ZC) - in fact, you would have to use the HF axles unless you swapped out the knuckles/hubs - the DX engine is DPFI and the HF is MPFI - you would need to use the MPFI intake manifold, injectors and distributor on the DX engine

When I run the vin on my 89 and the vin on the 88 that he motor is out of they both show the same Engine: 1.5L I4 MPI
here are the two vins:
1989 - JHMED8367KS019630
1988 - JHMED8359JS003564
the 88 also had this info under the hood:
engine family: jhn1-5v5fcf-4
88 honda 1500
91 c.i.d.
I dont have any axles at the moment
