No Audio Sound
Replaced my factory head unit with a Kenwood unit, and also had new speakers installed (no additional amps added). The unit worked great for like 3-4 mths. Now, I have no sound through the speakers. The head unit 'looks' like it's playing (equalizer is flashing as designed), but not one peep. I bought a different head unit, and again, no sound. Any thoughts? I heard something about some sort of 'factory' Bose amp that could of blown. If so, what's the best way of working around that, and how to do it? Please help....thanks!
one of your speakers is grounding out. The easiest way to find out which one is to take the deck out and test all 8 speaker leads for ground...and then you'll know which one to take apart and fix.
It'll most likely be one of the contacts on the speaker hitting the metal of the door panel, but it could be a pinched/cut wire as well. good luck

Try this, if you have front and rear speakers, fade all the way to the rear speakers, turn HU off for a few sec. then back on, if still nothing, fade all the way to the front and turn HU off for a few sec. and on again, let use know what happens.

Thanks for the helpful expertise. I actually reconsidered doing it myself, since I had an audio/security shop install the new speakers last summer. They offer lifetime warranty on labor 'thank goodness'... took'em like 20mins, and I got my car back really quickly. It ended up being exactly what you all described. Thanks again...
