Anybody run open header N/A at the track??
I was just wondering if anybody has tried running their car open header at the track and notice any gain at all? I want to run the GS-R (stock w/ an AEM) at the next IDRC event at Moroso in August and i'm looking for every ounce of power I can get out of it within reason, I know how incredible a difference it is to drive my Civic on open DP, but for a natrually aspirated GS-R, would it be worth the effort to remove the exahust or no?

Sure, you'll shave 30lbs of the car and maybe some power.

Just about eveyone I know removes their exhaust at the races. The only thing you have to watch out for is the rules for your class.
I must disagree, on a stock motor you are hardly gaining anything except weight reduction and sounding faster than you really are. For all motor applications, I found that its more beneficial with cars that have high compression ratio's and custom header designs to benefit from this. On a daily driven car with stock compression, I personally dont think its really worth it. Now turbo cars are a different story.
