Well i went to the honda dealership the other day to pick up my oil shaft balancer seal retainer, remember there was a recall on this item for the preludes. anyways, they HAVE to do it at honda and wont give the part out free, i even had my recall tag with me. My buddy mechanic that was there told the guys that they DID NOT want to work with my car due to all of the modifications and what not, the ******** still wouldnt give me the part for free after i told them my motor is apart and i can put it on my self. Anyways, i just wanted to let you guys know honda has to install this retainer and they will cover all costs if you have your recall tag. The retainer itself is only like $3 or 4 bucks which isnt too bad, i just like starting **** with this one particular honda guy bc he is a moron.

 

I know what your talking about, they will take every penny from you if they can, even with recall notices they still give you trouble. Im guessing this is a 4th Gen recall, no? Peace.

i didn't buy my 4th gen. very long ago and haven't heard of anything yet.

it's a liability issue for them not to perform the recall. gets too technical.

the recall effects h23a, h22a, and f series motors.

no dealership in the country will let you have the retainer. they must install it for you. but when you're done they should only need the car for less then an hour.

 

i know its the liability issue, but guess who has the hook up at another honda dealership? hehe, im picking up my retainer for FREE this afternoon

 

If you (or anyone else) needs to get their hands on one I have a couple sitting around...helps to have a Honda Tech as a roommate

Yeah, i worked at one not too long ago. The people there were great. I still get hook ups too.

 

i never got a recall tag...do i need one to get the service done? or can i show them the recall sheet?
