hey guys coming home last night i make a 90 degree right hand turn and before i can finish it the axle pops out of the hub...red grease everywhere, the boot is ripped open. The other thing i noticed is the car dropped 2 inches....could it be that the car was actually resting on the axle this whole time rather than the spring...? i dont get it, the axle has 500 miles on it.
Im getting it towed today will take pix of the damage

Did you install cotter pins in your ball joints after the last axle change??
Sounds like your ball joint or nut failed, causing the suspension to drop and axle to come out....get under there and see what happened?

That happened to me too. The previous owner before didn't replace the cotter pins on the ball joint and I never thought to look. From what it sounds, thats the exact same thing that happened to you too.

you guys are 100% right, the ball joint popped out. After the last axle change i tried to tighten the damn nut but it just kept slipping like it was stripped, i put a cotter pin in, but its no where to be found now. I ordered both brand new ball joints and anything related to it, gonna replace both, and replace driver side axle under warranty
lucky this didnt happen at high speed, 10mph, altho i JUST came off the freeway

Youre right, at least it wasn't at speed. If you ever need ANYTHING Honda related, my good friend Nazar lives in Blaine- he's a tech at Northwest Honda and he has a shop at his house. He's a really good guy, just PM me for his number.
For this same reason is why I do not go on "cruises" with other home built cars- it's just scary

The nut is missing
so ya boots on both sides of the axle are ripped and grease everywhere. Looks like the intermediate shaft and the hub/wheel bearing are ok. What else should i check for damage from somethin like this?
