Integra & Bad alternator : Easiest route ?
New to having an Integra and wanted to know your guys opinion on swappping out the alternator.
I thought I would be able to do it in like 10 minutes but soon found out that it isnt that easy.
Was thinking about taking the driver side axle out so i would have room to drop it below and get the new one in from the bottom but there has to be an easier way.
Any help would be great
Thanks guys

i just got teg so I don't know for sure but on my 92 civic with a B series, I got lucky and was able to just barely get it out without taking out the axle. So if you get lucky you might not have to take out the axle, but if the teg alt is even slightly larger than the sir2 alt you will be removing the axle

I just did mine on my 94 GSR and I started to take out the driver side half shaft, but then found a easier way to do it...
There is a bar right in front of the steering rack that is held in by 4 bolts(2 on each side) if you remove the bolts you can pull on the passenger side of the bar and wedge it up out of the way so that it gives you enough space to pull the alternator out from the bottom. You have to remove the battery tray to get the bolts on the passenger side. It takes a few long extentions to do it but it is much easier than pulling the half shaft...
I can take pics of it if you need them..

Here you go...

Look at pics 005 013 and 015 I have highlighted the items.
The driverside ones are directly below the brake booster. and the passenger side is directly below the charcole canister.
Once you got the 4 bolts out, goto the passenger side and pull the bar up and towards the front of the car. Its not gonna come out of the car, you are just going to move it around to get it out of your way.
Remove the alternator and maneuver it over to the center of the car, the point that it will drop out will be next to your exaust on the other side of the intermediate shaft end.
I think I explained it well enough (hopefully). If not give me a call and I'll explain it better 904-312-1462
