Default 1993 civic d1.5 wont run

I bought the car for next to nothing has a great body but the people said it wont run, well I noticed I had no spark and the fuel pump isnt coming on, when I turn the key to the on position the check engine light doesnt even come on which on my mr2 tells me the ecu is bad, does anyone agree and if not where should I start checking for problems?

sounds like a bad main relay. these are known for having cracked solder joints over time. this main relay is located on the left side wall to the left of where the drivers feet go. it is to the left of the brake pedal, but higher up. it isnt worth the trouble testing, based ont he age its very liable that its bad or is about to go bad, cars of your gen suffer this badly. honda's ecu's are known for NOT going bad. i read somewhere that only 0.2% of the ecus they see back for a core or warrantee, or goodwill, are bad that are a warrantable fault, as in, not water damage, but that a honda component inside just failed for no good reason. dont replace the ecu, if its bad, you would see lots of other issues. if your still not decided. generally, these main relays only fail when the car is parked in ahot environment.
some good things to look for easily to know a relay,
# Tapping your fingers or keys on the main relay will start the car.
# No (humming) sound from the fuel pump the moment the ignition switches ON.
# No click sound after the ignition key turns on or
# No click sound two seconds after the ignition turns on.
# Check engine light comes on (rare cases) or stays on longer than usual and no sparks (electronic timing only.)

o and hondas ecus when they fail, are known to light the engine light and it stays on for no explainable reason. a flowchart i have for hondas of your gen sugggests the relay as well, based on what you said.

supposedly the main relay was replaced and is brand new, how much are these, and would that cause no humming from the fuel pump and no spark?

yes it would cause these problems, are you seeing any reading at all on the tach while cranking the engine?

Check your fuses, a bad alternator fuse will cause this, also check the ground on the thermostat housing on the back of the engine, transmission ground as well.
