hey everyone i am doing some research on shocks and would like to know what the maximum reccomended spring rate would be to use on illuminas for 92-00 civics.

i went through the shock dyno stuff and i really cant tell from the charts or if someone would like to explain how to know what a spring rate a shock absorber could handle by reading the shock dynos;

People say that they cant handle more than a 450lb spring, but I have 450lb springs up front with zero issues. I think that somebody on this forum(tyson, I believe) runs like 900lb springs with his illuminas.

 

im on 8k/10k at the moment on full stiff and they damping fine. Any more than that and I think I would start losing some. Or however that works i dont remember.

10k~=550lb i think
