Default Driving impressions balance shaft on/off??

I am getting ready to do my h2b swap and want to know how bad the vibration is with the belt off or balance shafts removed. Is it just in the pedal you can feel it or the whole car? This will be my DD and i would like the extra HP but dont want it to shake all over the place. Im looking for people that have drove with them on and off

I loathe the NVH issues of car "mods". Yet dropping the BS belt has been nearly unnoticeable for me. Stock motor mounts.

I didn't feel anything. Why would the pedal vibrate more?

Yeah, you can feel it occasionally. It's not particularly bad though.

I will say that you may have a hard time noticing the extra power from a balance shaft omission. With my motor mounts having inserts, i saw just a tiny difference in vibration from the motor. you might want to run your idle a little higher, but it is not night and day.

I lost a filling from it.

j/k. Barely even notice it. Mount inserts as well. If anything, it's worth the peace of mind of not having the BS belt shredding off and eating up your timing belt. (don't ask me how I know)

Yeah like the rest have said, it's not bad at all. I've got motor mount inserts and no balancer belt and you can BARELY tell the difference as far as vibrations go. You can notice it if you try but it definitely wont make it any worse as a DD

I noticed small extra vibes at about 3800 and 4800 if cruising at that rpm, but only when I first had the belt off, after a few thousand miles, I don't remember what it felt like before! Stock motor mounts here as well. Oh and it still runs smoother than my WRX, but not as smooth as an RSX, but pulls way better lol!

I didn't think it was a big deal either until I decided to put my belt back on after doing the manual tensioner. The engine feels much smoother WITH the belt on. IMO it is not worth what 2 hp and a few pounds.

Well I know everyone here is gonna say remove it. What exactly do you mean by maintenance, a new belt every 90km?Seal retainer clip? Big deal. I ain't saying don't do it. I just prefer mine on. The car does not feel any slower with it on either.

Plus you dont have to worry about changing the balancer pulley, or worry about the pully freezing up, shredding the belt, and taking out the t-belt as well. It's all personal opinion though

I've also driven my car with and without the balancer belt, and my h22 felt alot smoother especially in the higher revs.. since I still have a/c (shes my dd) I decided to keep it on.. it accelerates so much smoother with it

To each is own though, I like the way my engine feels with the balance shafts used.
