Spoon resevoir covers came in today.

I got the JL W3V3 w/ grill into a box, put down the wiring kit and mounted the amp. Everything was great until a trunk leak let moisture into the trunk and the amp blew up. Well, either that or some wiring came loose somewhere because the amp wont turn on. I'm going to assume the worst though.

How ideal is it to get a trunk leak fixed? Especially with any frame misalignments (car was in a major wreck once before). I mean are there shops out there that do custom weatherstripping? Other than that.. my only choice is to let the rear seats down when it rains.

Also, I think I'm dealing with a blown shock. It's not a CV axle. Can you get Tokicos by the shock or do you have to replace the whole setup?

Anyway, everything was shaping out nicely until this came up. Seibon hood was about to be on the way :X

Vanity plate idea:
"GSR 4DR"
"GSR4ME"
"B18C4DR"

custom weather stripping. complete.

I felt the lines between the trunk door and the rear quarter panel, one side of the trunk door was high. I did a leak test by having someone in the trunk with a flashlight while I hosed down my trunk. Found two leak spots. In order to compensate for the fat spaces between the trunk and the quarter panel, I took off the trunk weather stripping and I used some old ground wire and pushed it down into the crevice where it attaches. This raised the weatherstripping a perfect amount.

Then I found another space where some welding had been done (body repair), and it is rusting through. I put some silicon sealant over the holes for a temporary fix, but I'm going to let a body shop bondo it back together and repaint it. While I'm there, I'll get the rear bumper replaced and a rear lip put on.

Trunk leak project almost finished. Hopefully my amp isn't fried so I can get back to having some nice bump in the trunk.

Put down those spoon resevoir covers, they look hot, and just need some blue NGK plug wires to match. It's time to do the dist cap, plugs, and air filter anyway. Another CEL came up today but I'll have that cleared tomorrow and she'll be running strong again. Also pulled off the exhaust manifold heat shield today, to repaint it aluminum, as well as the bolts.

Horray for a prettier engine bay.

With some TLC, polishing compound, spoon covers, repainted heat shield, new air filter, and spoon radiator cap, things look alot nicer! And my sub/amp installed sitting in the backseat while I work on my trunk leak.

GSRAWR haha...that's sick. I thought about getting "B18 EJ6" or "B18C EJ" but I like that GSRAWR.

Tomorrow scheduling an appointment with the bodyshop to get my rear bumper repaired (cracked) and repainted. Also getting them to repair the inside of my trunk where some rust has accumulated causing some leakage.

Also placing an order for a new Tokico Illumina shock for my rear passenger side. That **** is blown :sigh:

Any suggestions for a rear strut tower bar?

car's at the body shop now getting the trunk jam redone. It'll be out tomorrow afternoon and be ready for me to clear the CEL and take a look at the rear passenger shock/spring setup and see what I need to replace.

I wonder how absolute polish 16x7 rota JMAG's or royal black GT3's would look. Instead of the gunmetal 15x6.5 slipstreams

If I had money right now, I'd blow it on:

Hytech Tri-Y replica header (a/c compatible)
Skunk2 Pro Stage 2 cams
Skunk2 cam gears
Skunk2 valvetrain
Skunk2 intake manifold
Hondata S300
PasswordJDM cooling plate

w00t, but alas I am broke. Thanks ViS!

so I have some bad news, my GSR threw a rod or bearing today. I think my oil pump went bad without me knowing.

I guess it's time for B20/vtec.....

p.s. I am so pissed off.
