Will an EX gauge cluster work on a DX?

Yes, as long as it's from a '96-'00 civic, < '96 and > '00 won't fit.
EDIT:
PS: No extra wiring required, the wires are there, just no tach on the DX clusters.
I have a tachless CX cluster in my EX because they're hella cheaper when the fuel gauge on my EX cluster broke.

They're all plug and play. I've never heard a problem with any US cluster into any US car. That's referring to 6th gens of course.
Someone else post if there's something special about the HX I don't know.

I have a 96 dx just did a 99 d16y8 swap used 99 engine harness and ecu now everything works except when i put the 99 gauges in the tach and speedometer want work and also my fan isnt kicking on please help new to the whole civic thing lol
Ok could you tell me how to get them working i used the 99 ecu and everything plugged in except the gauges dont work i kept my 96 dash harness and just used the 99 engine harness if any 1 can help it would be much sppreciated thanks
